When Stacey & Steve asked me to photograph their beach wedding -I was both flattered and excited. I had shot Stacey's older brother's wedding a few years prior up at Bald Eagle Mountion in Central Pennsylvania and the results were stunning. Cliffside I do's? Heck yes. This family knows how to host a secenic-stunner of a wedding! Count me in!!
The Ceremony was held at VFW Mason Dixon Post 7234, Ocean View, Delaware on a grassy overlook to the coastline below. The sky was clear and blue, making even the northern Atlantic look a bit Caribbean in it's reflection. And the Officiant? Gunny's well-practiced voice carried easily over waves, wind, and crowd.
Moments with family, especially their parents, were especially emotional ...Like this Father-Son moment:
And this 1st Look with Stacey's parents:
Or when Stacey's mother, Kim, passed down a family heirloom Sapphire ring (old, new, borrowed, blue...) :
My favorite part of the day, and most wedding days whenever the couple elects to have one, is the First Look, and Stacey & Steve's was nothing short of breathtaking:
Beachy Details topped off the atmosphere with Sperry shoes worn by both Groom and bride (with her stunning dress by David's Bridal!). A local bakery created a sand castle wedding cake. And all the bridesmaids were gifted with beautiful starfish keepsake necklaces to remember the day.
Stacey chose purple for her Bridesmaid's Dresses and the wedding party donned beachy-festive sunglasses throughout the day and into the Reception. The Groomsmen went Khaki Classic with Sperry shoes and white button down shirts.
The indoor reception was held at the VFW as well, overlooking the water. The couple shared their first dance together and later close friends & family travelled to a nearby bay to enjoy cocktails at sunset.
Congratulations to the NEW Mr & Mrs McCoy!
